Coaches are being trained in the off season and getting ready to take it to the next level. Your girls will learn performance techniques, stunts, pom routines, and sideline cheer. They will gain a better understanding of the sport of cheerleading through sportsmanship, teamwork and citizenship, and of course…FUN!!!!

Required uniform fitting dates are:
May 16th 6:00 – 8:00 at Hilton Elementary
or
June 6th 6:00 to 8:00 at Hilton Elementary
Attendance at one fitting is required as new uniforms are being ordered June 6th
The BJF cheer program is one of the best competitive programs in the area. We offer cheer for girls in 1st through 8th grade. There are no try outs to participate. Squads are divided by grade level as follows:
Instructional: 1st & 2nd Grade
Freshman: 3rd & 4th Grade
Junior Varsity: 5th & 6th Grade
Varsity: 7th & 8th Grade
Experienced Coaches!
Our coaches are very experienced, having been involved with cheerleading for many years. We also get instruction from the Brighton High School squads. We compete in the Livingston County Area Junior Football League (LCAJFL). The teams that we compete against are other local communities that we will go on to compete against at the High School level.
Our coaches this year are:
- Varsity Black: Tonya Amine
- JV Black: Michelle Schmidt and Christine Gardner
- Freshman Black: Sandy Martin
- Varsity White: Open
- JV White: Shaun Pulice
- Freshman White: Alisha Kelly and Deena Battersby
- Instructional: Open
Practice Schedule
Our first practice begins the first week of August and continues 4 days per week until our first game in late August. After games begin, practices are 3 days per week. Starting in late August, we cheer at the BJF football games, which are played on Saturdays and continue through mid-October. Attendance at practice is required. All practices are held at Hawkins Elementary, with the exception of a few indoor practices to prepare for Cheerfest competition.
Equipment and Uniform Requirements
The following is required uniform wear and all items MUST be worn or brought to all games:
Provided by BJF:
- Skirt and Vest
- Crop top
- Black spanks/briefs
- Hair ribbon
Provided by parents:
- Shoes with white no-show socks
- Team wind Suit
- Water bottle labeled with your name for practices/games
